News Coverage

At the 2003 BPS Annual Conference I presented a poster dealing with a slightly obscure statistical aspect of analysing personal advertisement data (a method of avoiding a confounding condition that had affected much of the past research in this area).  To my astonishment, this was picked up by the press resulting in reasonably widespread media coverage of my research ... or rather of the issue of what men and women want in a partner: the substantive topic of the research I was looking at from a methodological standpoint.  It's a shame they weren't actually interested in what I had been doing but my 15 minutes of fame was an interesting experience and my kids were thrilled!
