Policy on Incoming and Outgoing Links
My policies on adding sites to my link pages, linking to other sites and linking directly to external content.
Linking to this site
If you wish to link to this site then feel free to link in any of the following ways:
- Link to the home page
e.g. http://www.richardatkins.co.uk/atws/index.html
- Link to a summary page
e.g. http://www.richardatkins.co.uk/atws/books.html
- Link to a particular content page or page on a document, journal or author
e.g. http://www.richardatkins.co.uk/atws/document/234.html
The web addresses (URLs) of the above pages should remain available indefinately: they are not real URL's but are already mapped server-side to the new site files. These mappings will be maintained through any future changes to the site structure.
Reciprocal Links
If you link to this site and have resources that are likely to be of interest to students of attachment theory, please drop me an e-mail and let me know so I can set up a reciprocal link back. However I will only provide a reciprocal link where there is content that I think will be of interest to my visitors. Please note that I occasionally check for incoming referrals and may already provide a link to your site (check my Links page). If you would prefer I do not provide a reciprocal link then, once again, please let me know via e-mail and I will comply with your wishes.
Links to External Content
Since the arrival of google's 'scholar' service which trawls the web for full-text documents and provides direct links (known as 'sponging' in web development circles) I have reviewed my policy of not providing direct links to other content. I now provide links directly to content such as full-text articles but also credit the site where the content is hosted and provide a parallel link to the site concerned. If you object to me linking directly to your content then please drop me an e-mail to let me know. As an alternative, if you would prefer I act as a mirror site and provide copies of your content without using your bandwidth (but while still crediting you as original provider) then I would also be willing to do this but will need assurances that you retain the copyright on the materials I would be hosting on your behalf.
