Attachment Style Prototypes

This measure uses the prototypical descriptions from the Adult Attachment Questionnaire but with the innovation introduced by Levy & Davis (1988) of inviting participants to score each prototypical description using a seven item Likert-type scale, rather than simply asking participants to choose one. This has the advantage of permitting the use of correlational techniques and avoids problems where participants feel more than one prototype is descriptive of themselves. Kirkpatrick & Davis (1994) is one instance where this instrument was later used.
