Continuity and change in inner working models of attachment

Hazan, C., & Hutt, M.J. (1990). Continuity and change in inner working models of attachment. Presented at the 5th International Conferance on Personal Relationships, Oxford, England, July 1990.

Reported that a quarter of subjects experienced a change in their style of romantic attachment during adulthood. The majority of these changed from insecure styles to secure.  This change was connected with being in a relationship which was contrary to the image of self or other which underlay the pattern of insecurity.
